Affordable

The proposed Ashley Solar Farm is a utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage project being developed by CleanPeak Energy. Located approximately 2km north of the Ashley town centre in regional New South Wales, this project will span around 15 hectares, and is designed to deliver a target capacity of 8.2MWdc, with up to 4.9MW exported to the grid.

The solar farm will consist of 12,500+ panels mounted on single-axis trackers that follow the sun from east to west, and is expected to generate approximately 15GWh of renewable electricity each year. That’s enough clean energy to avoid close to 9,500 tonnes of CO2 being emitted into the atmosphere annually.

The project is also set to include an integrated battery energy storage system, coupled directly with the solar infrastructure, which will enhance the project’s flexibility and performance. This allows the site to store excess energy generated during the day and dispatch it when demand is highest, improving grid stability and ensuring a more consistent and dependable renewable energy supply for the local community.

For Ashley

CleanPeak works with local subcontractors and suppliers wherever possible, and have set up a Community Benefits Fund to support local projects, events, and initiatives in Ashley across the life of the solar farm.

For the Climate

Once fully operational, the Ashley Solar Farm is expected to offset close to 9,500 tonnes of carbon emissions each year, equivalent to powering around 1,600 Australian homes .

For the Land

The site has been carefully placed to protect environmental values, minimise native vegetation removal and respect areas of cultural sensitivity, with our Net Positive Biodiversity Action Plan, guiding  how the land is enhanced over time.

Location

The Ashley Solar Farm is located approximately 2 km north of the Ashley township in regional New South Wales. The site is strategically positioned to connect into the local electricity network, enabling efficient delivery of renewable energy to the grid.

With strong solar resources across the region and a site layout designed to accommodate environmental and planning considerations, the project is well placed to support reliable, large-scale solar generation.
